God’s Love For Us

Romans 5_8A

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). In this passage, we are called sinners. There is nothing in us that is holy. Not even the moral good in us is enough for God, He still views us as sinners. We are people who have missed the mark. But God loves us. He provided Jesus, His own Son as a demonstration of His love. Christ died in our place. This is the Gospel, that Jesus died, and was buried, and rose on the third day (1 Corinthian 15:3-4). He did all this for you and me. He loved us even before we loved Him.
