Following Christ

Matt 16_24B

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Matthew 16:24). In this verse, Jesus gives the ultimate requirements to follow him. First, you must deny yourself. This means that Jesus has complete authority over your life. You do not own yourself, “we were bought with a price” (1 Corinthians 6:20). Secondly, take up your cross means to follow Jesus no matter the circumstance, whether following Him leads you to persecution or even your death. So many say they are followers of Christ, but when you look at their lives, it becomes only lip service. Do you just voice your faith or do you live it? Follow Jesus today!

Have a Blessed Day!
