House Of Bread

“And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, art not the least among the princes of Judah: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.” (Matthew 2:6). In this verse, the scribes and elders tell King Herod that the Christ is to be born in Bethlehem in the land of Judah. Jesus being born in Bethlehem is a literal fulfillment of a literal prophecy given by the prophet Micah over 700 years before Christ was born. Bethlehem means “house of bread.” Jesus said, “I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst” (John 6:35). What an appropriate place for the Bread of Life to be born.
