“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” (1 Timothy 6:6-8). Paul is telling Timothy and us to be content with what God has given you. However, I believe this goes beyond our possessions. We need to be content with our position in life, that is your job and our purpose, which is where God has called us and place us to serve Him. Notice our contentment is to be with godliness. In other words, Our life of contentment is to be one of holiness. In the song “Satisfied with Jesus,” B.B. McKinney asked this question; “But the question comes to me, As I think of calvary, Is my Master satisfied with me?” Is God content with you? Take a moment to get alone with God. Let Him search your heart and be prepared to listen to Him. There is great Gain in living a holy and content life.
Have a Blessed Day!
