“And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;” (Hebrews 10:11-12). From the creation of the Tabernacle, up to the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem, priests continually offered sacrifices that never took away the sins of the people. But this Man, Jesus offered Himself one time for the sins of the whole world. When He had accomplished this, He sat down at the right hand of God the Father. That is why Jesus, while he was dying on the cross, said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). There was no need for another sacrifice. Jesus’ death on the cross was sufficient for all.
