Stand Still

“And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, and he passed on, but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.” (1 Samuel 9:27). Samuel is preparing to anoint Saul King over Israel. After sending the servant on by Samuel tells Saul to “Stand still a while, that I may shew thee the Word of the Lord.” There are times in our lives when we are praying or reading the Bible or even worshipping at church with other believers, that we miss hearing God. Things around and even within us clamor for our attention. We are not still before Him and therefore, we miss hearing the Word of God. Take a moment to be still before the Lord. Let Him speak to your heart, listen and be obedient.

Have a Blessed Day!
