God’s Lovingkindness

Psa 63_3-4

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.” (Psalms 63:3-4). David realized that God’s love which nourished and refreshed him was better than sustaining his own physical life. Because of God’s love, David praised and blessed God, lifting his hands to Him. Who or what do you love above all others? Some would say, family, money, or career. God should be our first love. He should be first in our hearts. We should praise God because of His great love for us. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). Take time to praise God today, He does love you.

God’s Presence

Psa 51_10

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10). How do you prepare yourself to meet God? David had sinned and in this verse, he asked God to give him a clean heart and a right spirit. Many of us come to God’s presence with unprepared hearts and a spirit that is wandering. Ask God to give you a clean heart and a right spirit that is renewed with His Spirit. Only then can you truly come before His presence and worship Him? “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psalm 16:11).

Living In The Spirit

Rom 8_5A

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit” (Romans 8:5). Our flesh will be tempted. When temptation strikes how do we react? Do we give in to Satan’s devices and allow our human nature to dominate, or do we conquer them? There is an answer; the power to escape the snare of Satan is God’s gift; His indwelling Holy Spirit. Jesus was tempted in ALL points, just as we, but He overcame because He lived His human, fleshly life by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. TEMPTED IN ALL POINTS, just as we, Yet, without sin, because His mind was set to honor God. If you desire to live, the victorious life in Christ then “be filled with the Spirit.” (Ephesians 5:18)

Thy Light and Thy Truth

Psa 43_3

O send out thy light and thy truth: let them lead me; let them bring me unto thy holy hill, and to thy tabernacles.” (Psalm 43:3). The psalmist knew that he needed God’s light and truth in order to bring him to God’s holy hill and tabernacles. It is the same today, Jesus said; “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). To be able to get to God’s holy hill and tabernacles, you must come by way of the light and truth. Jesus is the Way to God, the Truth of God and The Light of God. Surrendering To God

Psa 37_5

“Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” (Psalm 37:5). We do not find it easy to surrender our lives totally to the will of God, but this is what this verse is talking about. Committing one’s way to the Lord means submitting one’s life to the will of God. That means everything from the most insignificant detail of our lives to the most key decisions. When we do this we experience what He wants for our lives. He will eventually reward us who are righteous and prove to us that trusting Him was worth it, as it will all come to pass.

Be Glad In The Lord

Psa 32_11

Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.” (Psalms 32:11). Are you happy in the Lord? I have met a lot of people who call themselves Christians, however, from the expression on their faces they show no joy. It would make you wonder if they were truly a child of God. If Christ is in your heart there should be joy on your faces and joy in your actions. Let being glad in the Lord become a way of life. Show those around you that there is joy in your heart that can only come from Christ. Shout for Joy.

Wait On The Lord

Psa 25_4-5A

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.” (Psalm 25:4-5). We all want to walk in God’s righteous ways, however, we need help in discerning those ways. These verses are a cry from David for help. A cry for God to give him His guidance and instructions. David realized that he needed God to guide him and teach him. How many times have we got ahead of God and tried to do it our way? We need to wait on the God of our salvation to show us His ways, teach us His paths, and lead us into His truth. Ask God for His guidance and wait on Him.
