Living For God

Col 1_10A

“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:10). The key word in this passage is “worthy.” Does your walk or lifestyle ascribe worthship to Christ? Examine your heart to see if there is something in your life that is not pleasing to Him. Notice two things to help us walk worthy. First, “be fruitful in every good work.” Whatever you do, do it for Jesus. Secondly, “increase in the knowledge of God.” To know more about God, you need to spend time in His Word. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you and speak to you. As children of God, we are to live one day at a time in a manner that would glorify and please their Lord. Walk worthy of the Lord and please Him today.

Personal Reflection

Phil 2_12A

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12). What did Paul mean by the phrase “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling?” Notice he did not say work for. Every day, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to do some introspection within our hearts, to make certain they we are indeed in Christ as evidence by our daily living. We work out our salvation by walking with the Holy Spirit, as He guides us in the will of God. Are you walking in God’s will? Is the light of Christ that is shining in us, “so shining before men, that they are seeing our good works and glorifying the Father Who is in heaven?” Do some personal reflection right now to see exactly how it is between Him and you as you seek to work out your salvation.

Better Things

Hebrews 9_6

“But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.” (Hebrews 6:9). The writer of Hebrews was expressing his confidence in those believers he was writing to. He believed they would not fall away, but move on to things that accompany salvation. Things such as maturity in Christ, the meat of the Word, living in true righteousness, walking by faith, and so much more. Paul wrote these words of encouragement; “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.” (Titus 2:11-14). Beloved, you were meant for better things. Live like you are saved, live for Jesus.

New Creation

2 Cor 5_17B

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). When Christ comes into your life, there will be a change, your thoughts, actions, attitude, words, and so much more will begin to change so that you become more like Christ every day. If there hasn’t been a change in your life, then there is a problem with your heart. Perhaps Christ is not in your heart, or maybe you need to repent of your sins and began to follow Jesus again. Whatever your need is, make the change today. If you do not know Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, go to my website http://www.T4GM.org and click the link “How To Become A Christian.”

Clothed

Isa 61_10

I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, he hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.” (Isaiah 61:10). Isaiah was rejoicing in the Lord because God had clothed him with salvation and covered Him with righteousness. As Christians, we have the same reason to praise God. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we are clothed in salvation and are covered with His righteousness. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says; “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.” You have so much to thankful for so rejoice in the Lord.

Reflecting Christ

2 Cor 3_18A

But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18). When we by faith accept Christ as our Savior, the veil is removed and we are able to see the reflection of the glory of the Lord. As we observe the Glory of Christ, we begin a gradual transformation from the inside out. Through the Holy Spirit, we begin to reflect the glory of Christ in our lives more and more. When people look at you who do they see? Do people say you remind me of Christ? Be Christ-like; reflect His glory today, “Let others see Jesus in you.”
