God Will Be There For You

Psa 23_4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4). David knew that no matter what was to happen in his life; even death, that He would fear no evil. Because God would always be with him. We face trials throughout our lives, trials of discouragement, disappointment, disasters and even death. We feel like no one cares, no one sees the trouble that we are in. However, there is someone that cares and sees all that is happening in our lives. We do not have to go through those trials alone. God is always there, all we have to do is call on Him. God said in the book of Hebrews; “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5). It is comforting to know that we do not have to walk through the shadows alone. Call upon God today. Place your trust in Him. God will be there for you.

All Things

Rom 8_28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). We are quick to praise God when everything around is going our way. But when trouble comes our way, we cry out, not in praise but for help. According to this verse, all things, the good and the bad are in our lives for a reason. God uses trial and tribulations to fulfill His purpose in us and to bring us closer to Him. The prophet Habakkuk said it this way “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” (Habakkuk 3:17-18).  No matter how good or bad the day goes, It’s going to be alright. Praise the Lord.

A Fixed Heart

Psa 57_7

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7). A fixed heart represents a steadfast heart. It is a heart that in a world that is falling apart around us, has a peace that passes all understanding. It is faith in God, a confident assurance that He is still in control. You know you possess it when in the midst of the turmoil in your soul, you are at peace with God. Paul wrote, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which passeth all understanding, SHALL KEEP your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7). Fix your heart on God and praise Him today.

Heavenly Minded

2 Cor 5_8A

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). Paul was heavenly minded, but he was still aware there was a race to be finished. As believers, our minds should be the same. While we focus our minds on God, we have a race to run, a battle to fight also here on this earth. Every morning as we are awakened, we need to put on the spiritual armor in order to fight that battle. Putting on the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, feet shod with the Gospel of Peace to share, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation and The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. And finally, we bathed all of this in Prayer. We can be that heavenly minded because of Jesus. Remember, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Stay focused on heavenly things, stay focused on God!

Glory In The LORD

Jer 9_24

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24). Just like in the days of Jeremiah, there are those today who glory in their own wisdom, their own strength, and their own riches. Their lives revolve around what they have and what they do. But we are called to glory in that we know and understand the Lord. The only way you can know the Lord is through a relationship with His Son Jesus Christ. When we know and understand the Lord, we will see His lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness. Notice it says He delights in these, then we are to delight in these also, by loving one another, judging rightly, and living holy lives. What are you glorying in today? God should be the center of all you are and all you do. Paul wrote; “But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 10:17).

Give All To God

Prov 16_3

How many times in our day-to-day lives do we do what we want to do? We just do what feels right. Have you ever thought about allowing God in on your daily planning? The Word says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.” (Proverbs 16:3). How many times have you started the day by giving the day to God, or have arrived at work and gave the work day to Him? Notice again what the Scripture says, “Commit thy works unto the LORD,” that is everything you are going to do. From the rising up in the morning to the resting at night, we place everything in His hands. When you do all that, “thy thoughts shall be established.” This means your plans will be achieved. Give it all to God, even your plans, and when your plans are His you can’t go wrong.

Peace

Psalm 4_8

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8). There are many remedies to help us sleep. Some people count sheep, others use some type of noise and many take pills. However, those remedies are only for the body, and they cannot give you peace of mind and peace in your soul. Only God can give you true peace that will help you dwell in safety. Jeremiah wrote; “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3). Next time you have trouble sleeping because there is no peace, don’t try the things of the world, get your mind on God. You can sleep, knowing that He will give you peace of mind and soul, and he will keep you through the night.
