In God We Trust

Psa 31_1In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.” (Psalm 31:1). If you were to reach into your pocket, billfold or purse and pull out a coin or a bill of currency, you will notice that engraved or printed on each piece of legal tender is the phrase “In God We Trust.” This phrase came straight from the Bible. Because God was in the heart of our founding forefathers, He directed them to put it on each piece of currency. Today as we celebrate as a nation our 242nd birthday, take a moment to thank God that He is still sovereign and in control of all things, including this nation. The United States of America is still One Nation Under God…and that God is JEHOVAH.

Worship In Spirit And In Truth

John 4_24“But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24). In His conversation with the woman at the well, Jesus provides us with the true way to worship God. First of all the hour is now. No longer must men go to a temple or an altar to worship God. Through Jesus’ death and the coming of the Holy Spirit, God’s presence now dwells in the hearts and lives of His people. We can worship God anywhere and at any time. To worship in spirit is a heartfelt worship. It is our spirit communing and fellowshipping with God through the Holy Spirit. To worship in truth is to worship the one true way, through His Son Jesus Christ. Notice one thing; the Father seeks people to worship Him. God created man to worship and have fellowship with Him. God seeks people who will worship Him in spirit and in truth. Take a moment right now and worship God in spirit and in truth.

Praise The Lord

Psa 96_2-3

Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.” (Psalm 96:2-3). This psalm is a call to praise God. But in doing so, we are to proclaim His salvation to a lost and dying world. We are to show them His glory and all His wonders. Take a moment to let your heart meditate on how you are going to reflect Jesus. How will you share His salvation? Verse 9 of this Psalm says “O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.” One day the whole earth will reverence God and Christ, but until then we have to show them His glory and salvation so that they may fear the Lord. Jesus said; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16. Be a witness of God today, sing and praise His name.

Children Of God

Rom 8_15

For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God” (Romans 8:15-16). When we accept Christ as our personal Savior, the Holy Spirit, who comes to dwell in us, show us that we are children of God. Through the Holy Spirit we are adopted into God’s family and now we cry to our Father, our dear Father. Just meditate on the awesome idea that you are a child of God; that you are part of God’s family. Allow that permeate your soul and thoughts today. If you are not a child of God and don’t know Christ, then go to my website http://www.T4GM.org and click the link “How To Become A Christian.”

God Is My Salvation

Isa 12_2A

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2). Our God is our salvation, strength, and song. God has saved us, gives us strength for the day, and has put a song in our hearts. No wonder Isaiah could say I will trust in God and not be afraid. Are you trusting God with all your life? Don’t be afraid, let Him be your salvation, strength, and song.

Submit To God

James 4_7-8A

“Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.” (James 4:7-8). In these verses, we have the solution to defeating Satan. We are to submit to God. This is not a one-time thing, but a lifetime decision. Then you can resist Satan and he will flee. Satan will try again, but the closer he finds us to God, the further he will stay. We must continually submit to God. Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you.

To Know More

Psa 63_1

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” (Psalm 63:1). Most Christians have just as much God as they want. How about you, are you satisfied with what you know of God or do want more? Do you long for God? If so, spend time in prayer and in His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to show you more. May we all be like Paul who wrote; “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” (Philippians 3:10). Long for God, Thirst for God, and get to know more of Him.
