You Are Someone Special

Psa 147_4

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” (Psalm 147:4). When I read this verse, I see the awesomeness of God. If the stars are so important that God has given them names, just think how much more important you are to Him and how much He cares for you. God’s Word tells us to “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). God loves you and cares for you. So remember, in God’s eyes you are someone special.

God Will Be There For You

Psa 23_4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4). David knew that no matter what was to happen in his life; even death, that He would fear no evil. Because God would always be with him. We face trials throughout our lives, trials of discouragement, disappointment, disasters and even death. We feel like no one cares, no one sees the trouble that we are in. However, there is someone that cares and sees all that is happening in our lives. We do not have to go through those trials alone. God is always there, all we have to do is call on Him. God said in the book of Hebrews; “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5). It is comforting to know that we do not have to walk through the shadows alone. Call upon God today. Place your trust in Him. God will be there for you.

Heavenly Minded

2 Cor 5_8A

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-8). Paul was heavenly minded, but he was still aware there was a race to be finished. As believers, our minds should be the same. While we focus our minds on God, we have a race to run, a battle to fight also here on this earth. Every morning as we are awakened, we need to put on the spiritual armor in order to fight that battle. Putting on the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness, feet shod with the Gospel of Peace to share, Shield of Faith, Helmet of Salvation and The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. And finally, we bathed all of this in Prayer. We can be that heavenly minded because of Jesus. Remember, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). Stay focused on heavenly things, stay focused on God!

Peace

Psalm 4_8

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8). There are many remedies to help us sleep. Some people count sheep, others use some type of noise and many take pills. However, those remedies are only for the body, and they cannot give you peace of mind and peace in your soul. Only God can give you true peace that will help you dwell in safety. Jeremiah wrote; “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3). Next time you have trouble sleeping because there is no peace, don’t try the things of the world, get your mind on God. You can sleep, knowing that He will give you peace of mind and soul, and he will keep you through the night.

What Does God Require?

Micah 6_8A

He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8). This verse communicates to us three things God requires of us, and they are good in His eyes. First, to do justly. We are to be fair to everyone; to treat them as we want to be treated. Secondly, we are to love mercy. The word for mercy (hesed) is also translated lovingkindness. So we are to love lovingkindness and show this loyal love to others. Finally, we are to walk humbly with our God. We are to live our lives prayerfully trusting and depending on God rather than relying on ourselves. Remember this is a commitment that the Lord requires. It is not merely something we do if we feel like it. Put this verse in your heart and live it.

The Choice Is Up To You

John 3_36A

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36). This verse gives us a clear picture of both alternatives. Those who believe in the Son, Jesus Christ, will have eternal life; a life that is fit for an eternity with God. Everyone who does not believe in Jesus will not see life and God’s wrath remains upon them. Paul wrote about the wrath of God, “In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:” (2 Thessalonians 1:8). Not accepting the free gift of salvation is to disobey God and the results is an eternity separated from God. Meditate On God

Psa 104_34

I will sing unto the LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.” (Psalm 104:33-34). Have you ever just taken an hour or so to meditate on God and His goodness toward you? Have you ever just burst forth in praise to Him? I believe the majority of Christian do not spend enough time with God. They don’t have that intimate moment with the Father, Son, and The Holy Spirit. Take time today to meditate on God, you will find it to be so sweet. As long as you live, be glad in the Lord and sing praises to Him.
