“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” (Isaiah 60:1). We live in a world in which the darkness of sin is overwhelming. However, a light has come that will dispel the darkness. The light is Jesus Christ, He said: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12). As children of God, we are to arise in this darkness and shine His light which is in us. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). Arise and let the Light of Christ shine through you.
“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13). In talking to people about their salvation, I have heard many say, I hope I am saved or I think I am saved. This passage clearly states that you may know you have eternal life. The verb “may know” means it is settled and is absolute knowledge. In other words, there is no doubting, once you know, you know. If there is doubt in you, then I believe you need to make sure that Christ resides in your heart. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9) Jesus says in this passage, that He is the Door. All who enter through the Door will be saved. Once you become a child of God, like a shepherd, Jesus provides for His sheep. He guards and protects His sheep. He gives them food for spiritual growth. Jesus provides for all their needs 24 hours a day. David knew exactly what kind of shepherd the Lord was when he wrote: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1). “But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” (Matthew 9:36-38). Jesus had compassion on the lost house of Israel. He said they were scattered abroad as sheep having no shepherd. It is the same in our world today; the harvest is truly great, but there are very few laborers. When was the last time, you shared Christ with someone? I don’t mean living your life in front of them as a Christian. I mean verbally sharing the Good News that Jesus saves. Telling them that Jesus loves them and that He died in their place to give them eternal life. The key is prayer. Pray the Lord will send out witnesses to share the Gospel. Pray that God through the Holy Spirit will give you the power and courage to share today. Lord put someone in our paths today that we may share your love with their hearts. Have a Blessed Day! “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Someone has said that Jesus could not possibly be the only way to God, that there are many ways to heaven. Many religions would want you to believe that. But the Bible tells us only one way, that way is through Jesus. Peter said it this way “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). It is not by works, duty, or birth. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Salvation is not about what you can do to get to heaven, it is about what Christ has already done. Jesus completed salvation on the cross. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31). “Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:” (1 John 4:2). One way to determine whether a person is a true witness of Jesus or not, is to ask them “Who is Jesus?” If they do not teach that Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, their teaching is false, and they are not a Christian. No person can recommend Jesus if they personally do not know Him. If you do know Jesus, you have an opportunity every day to share Christ. As the verse says; the Holy Spirit in you confesses that Jesus has come in the flesh; He is the Son of God. Share Christ with someone today, you may be the only Jesus they ever see. For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” (2 Tim 1:12). Paul is sharing with Timothy that he believes in Jesus and is not ashamed of Him and that his confidence lay in the person of God. He believes that God is faithful. The key word in this verse is ashamed. If you are ashamed of Jesus in your daily life, then maybe you don’t truly believe in Him. Perhaps you don’t fully trust Him. Jesus said, “ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:25). Stand up for Jesus today and be a witness of what He has done for you. Have a Blessed Day! T4GM.ORG
