Praise The Lord

Psa 135_3

This morning as you start the day, remember to Praise the Lord. The psalmist wrote, “Praise the LORD; for the LORD is good: sing praises unto his name; for it is pleasant.” (Psalm 135:3). We are to praise the Lord in all things, good or bad. Why? The Scripture tells us because the Lord is good. We may not understand why things happen as they do, however, God is good and He knows the best for us. Paul wrote, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). For the child of God everything that happens in our lives is for our good, so, Praise Him, For the Lord is Good.

Praise The Lord

Psa 100_1

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.” (Psalm 100:1) As Christians, we are called to praise God. I am sure many of you have already praise Him this morning for all the blessings He has given you. But, what about during your day? Are you going to praise Him as you interact with those around you? Jesus said, “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.” (John 15:11). Inside us is the joy of Jesus. Is that what those around you see every day, or do they see worry or complaining? You need to let your joy shine today so that what Jesus said can happen, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). Let your joy shine as praise so other will praise Him too.

Delight In The Lord

Psa 37_4

How many times have we wondered why God has not blessed us with what we feel we desire. Psalm 37:4 says “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” Do we delight ourselves in the Lord all day, or do we allow emotions, people, and other things to take our focus away from Lord? We must focus our will, our way, and our desires on the Lord. Matthew 6:33 says “Seek ye FIRST the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.” Our desires must be for Him.

Fear The Lord

Prov 1_7

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Proverbs 1:7). What does it mean to fear the Lord? It does not mean to be afraid of Him. We are to revere God in humble submission to His will. To fear the Lord is the foundation of wisdom on which we must build our life upon. This fear of the Lord put a desire in our hearts not to sin and to live a life of holiness. There are those who do not fear the Lord and therefore despise His wisdom and instruction. Do you fear God? You can be sure that God is watching all that we do and he knows our thoughts and intents. Humbly submit your heart to God and fear Him.

Beautify With Salvation

Psa 149_4

For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.” (Psalm 149:4). When you humbled yourself and bowed before Christ and accepted Him as Lord and Savior, he did a wonderful thing. He beatified you with salvation. Every day when you spend time with Christ and moments in God’s Word, the Holy Spirit begins to change you and make you more like Christ. This change begins on the inside of your heart and moves outward that all may see His beauty. Jesus said; “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). Can the world see the beauty of His salvation in you? Shine His Light today.

Walk As Light

Eph 5_8a

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” (Ephesians 5:8). We are encouraged in this verse to walk as children of light. Paul tells us we were darkness, not in darkness. When we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior we become light in the Lord. John wrote; “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:4-5). Undoubtedly, these believers were not walking as children of light because Paul had to remind them. As you go through your day, will you reflect the light of Christ? Walk as children of Light.

Peace Of Christ

John 14_27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27). There are two words in this verse you need to understand. They are “Let not.” It means that you are in control of letting your heart be troubled. You can allow the problems of this world, to take away the peace that Jesus wants to give you. Many people rely on the peace of this world and try to find peace in possessions, work, or in religion. We can make it through this life regardless of the circumstances because Jesus can give us true peace. In Philippians 4:7 it is described as “which passeth all understanding.” Without a doubt, we cannot understand it, but we can believe it, and it is up to you to let not your heart be troubled. Trust in the Peace of Christ. It is a discipline that is well worth the effort.
