The Real Beauty Of Jesus

Isa 53_5

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed” (Isaiah 53:3-5). Have you ever thought about the beauty of Jesus, what did He look like? We have many paintings of Christ, however, these portraits portray Jesus as the artist sees Him. The Scripture from Isaiah paints a different portrait, and it doesn’t sound very lovely. There wasn’t anything out of the ordinary about Christ. Jesus didn’t come earth to win a beauty contest, or to show off His muscles or His tanned body. He came to die! He came to be wounded for our transgressions, to be bruised for our iniquities. So, next time you examine a painting or picture of Christ, look beyond that and see the true beauty of Jesus at Calvary.

To Know Christ

Phil 3_8

“Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,” (Philippians 3:8). Everything in Paul’s life was nothing compared to knowing Christ. All was waste so that he might win Christ. What about you? Wherever your heart is that is where your love is. Who or what do you love more? The desire of our hearts should be “That we may know Christ above all things.” Make Jesus first in your life.

The Same

Hebrew 13_8

“Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.” (Hebrews 13:8). It is inevitable that you will need to change something today. Perhaps the oil in your car, a light bulb in your home, and even people around you. But one thing is certain, Jesus never changes. He is the same as He was the day you first met Him. Even though through sin we hurt our relationship with Him, Jesus still loves us. He still forgives us and His mercy and grace for us is still the same. Jeremiah wrote; “Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” (Jeremiah 31:3). As you go through the day, remember Jesus is always the same.

One Mediator

1 Tim 2_5A

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” (1 Timothy 2:5). It is no longer politically correct to insist that there is only one way to heaven. In our age of “anything-goes tolerance,” we hear that all religions are the same, and there are many pathways to God. All these pathways will lead you to God. There’s only one thing wrong with that philosophy–it’s false. The Bible unequivocally teaches there is only one way to heaven – Jesus! Jesus said; “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). You may think I am narrow-minded in my belief, but the Word of God is true. Jesus is the only mediator between God and man.

Revealed In Us

Rom 8_18

“For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18). Whatever trials or suffering you are going through cannot be compared to being made like Jesus. John writes; “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2). When Jesus appears we will be like Him. We will be transformed physically and spiritually; made like Jesus. Are you looking forward to that day? Focus on Jesus and being made like Him. All your sufferings do not have any weight compared to what you will be in Christ.

Jesus is the only Way!

John 14_6A“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). According to Jesus’ own words, no one can come to the Father but through Him. Jesus was not saying that I will direct you to the way or that I am one way among many. He is the way to God, the Truth of God, and The Life of God. Any religion that makes Jesus’ role different from the one that the Bible gives Him will not bring people to God or give them eternal life. Paul wrote; “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:9-10). Do you know Jesus as your Savior and Lord? Trust in Jesus today, He is the only Way.
