Sold Out To Jesus!

Gal 6_14ABut God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” (Galatians 6:14). Consider what Paul is saying. He was completely sold out to Jesus, how about you? The cross was a symbol of shame in Paul’s day. Paul, however, cared nothing for riches and fame, he would glory in the work that Jesus did on the cross. Paul would give his all for Christ. Does Jesus have first place in your life? Jesus said it like this, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind” (Matthew 22:37). Put Jesus first today, let Him rule your heart.

All Things

Rom 8_28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28). We are quick to praise God when everything around is going our way. But when trouble comes our way, we cry out, not in praise but for help. According to this verse, all things, the good and the bad are in our lives for a reason. God uses trial and tribulations to fulfill His purpose in us and to bring us closer to Him. The prophet Habakkuk said it this way “Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” (Habakkuk 3:17-18).  No matter how good or bad the day goes, It’s going to be alright. Praise the Lord.

I Am Not Ashamed

2 Tim 1_12

For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day” (2 Tim 1:12). Paul is sharing with Timothy that he believes in Jesus and is not ashamed of Him and that his confidence lay in the person of God. He believes that God is faithful. The key word in this verse is ashamed. If you are ashamed of Jesus in your daily life, then maybe you don’t truly believe in Him. Perhaps you don’t fully trust Him. Jesus said, “ For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy angels.” (Luke 9:25). Stand up for Jesus today and be a witness of what He has done for you.

A Fixed Heart

Psa 57_7

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7). A fixed heart represents a steadfast heart. It is a heart that in a world that is falling apart around us, has a peace that passes all understanding. It is faith in God, a confident assurance that He is still in control. You know you possess it when in the midst of the turmoil in your soul, you are at peace with God. Paul wrote, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which passeth all understanding, SHALL KEEP your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7). Fix your heart on God and praise Him today.

Worship the Lord Our God

Psa 99_9B

Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.” (Psalm 99:9). As believers, we are told to exalt God and worship Him because He is Holy. Worship is an act of submission to exalt God and Glorify Him. It is giving Him your loyalty and devotion for what He has done for you. As you gather with other believers today, remember, true worship is God-centered. Is not about you, the music, the preacher or the sermon. Worship is about God! Exalt, adore, love Him today. Let Him fill you with His presence. “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (Psalm 29:2).

Worship

Psa 138_1

One thing I believe is that the majority of Christian do not worship God on Sunday Morning at church. They get caught up in a routine, and it becomes something we have to do. Worship should be something we desire to do. When we arrive at the church, we should have already worshipped God that morning. From the moment we get up in the morning, our worship of God should begin and continue throughout the entire day. David wrote, “I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” (Psalm 138:1-2). Notice he said, “I will Praise Thee with my whole heart.” God should have first place in our lives and that begins with our worship of Him. Don’t allow anything to get in that way of worshiping Him today. Put Him first in every situation in your life.
