One Desire

Psa 27_4

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4). What is your one desire? For David, it was to dwell on the wonderful features of God. He wanted to dwell in the presence of God. Do you have that singleness of purpose? Is God the one thing you desire? We can’t be at church 24/7, but we can start each day gazing upon the beauty of God and meditating on His word. Be still and listen.

Walk In Truth

Psa 86_11A

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” (Psalm 86:11) Can we truly learn all the ways of God and walk in the truth, when in our hearts we are pulled in so many ways by the world? Many Christians put on a good act in front of others, however, in their heart, there is division. We cannot walk in God’s truth if our hearts and minds are scattered. Jesus said this way “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30). Focus on God today and put Him first in everything situation, and fear His name.

Are You Satisfied?

Phil 1_21A

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1:21). Consider carefully the words of Paul, the apostle, written above. Paul is content to continue living in his physical body or to die because whichever state he found himself he was satisfied totally. If he remains here on the earth, his life for the cause of Christ would bring honor and glory to Christ. If he died, Christ would still be glorified, because, in Christ, Paul would immediately be in the presence of the Lord, and what could be greater than that? Each day you and I declare the same truth about ourselves once we know we have been born again.  This earth is not our home, we’re just passing through. Praise God for the here and now, and the hereafter!

Look To Jesus

Prov 4_25A

“Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee” (Proverbs 4:25).  One way Satan tempt us is through the lust of the eyes. He paints a pretty picture in order to get our attention off of God. Our eyes see the pleasures of this world and our flesh desires those worldly pleasures. Instead, we should be looking straight forward to Jesus, the author, and finisher of our faith. The lyrics of this song by Helen H. Lemmel tells us what we should do, “Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.” “Walk by faith, not by sight;” look straight to Jesus.

A Fixed Heart

Psalm 57_7A

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7). A fixed heart, what does that mean? In a world that is falling in around us, it means we have our hearts focused on God. There is a confident assurance that God is in control. Our faith is firmly in Him. That is why David wrote; “But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.” (Psalm 31:14). When your heart is fixed on God, you can sing and give Him praise. Let the world see the Joy that only Jesus can bring. Fix your heart on God as you worship Him today.

One Heart

Ezek 11_19

And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them an heart of flesh:” (Ezekiel 11:19). They say that wherever your love is that is where your heart will be. When we accept Christ as Lord and Savior, at that moment we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit. God then begins a process to change our divided heart into one heart. It is one heart for Him and Him alone. Our heart of stone God makes into a heart of flesh that beats for Him. Do you love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength? Let your heart beat for God, make it one heart for Him.

Turn Back To God

Zech 1_3

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.” (Zechariah 1:3). Robert Robinson wrote the words to the song “Come Thy Fount Of Every Blessing.” In the lyrics we find these words “Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it; Prone to leave the God I love:” Have you wandered away from God? The Lord issues a clear and straightforward command; “Turn back to me.” A plain and simple call to anyone who desires to restore the fellowship with God that was broken by our sin. It is up to you to freely give your love to Him. Repent and turn back to God, and He will turn back to you.
