Be Free

John 8_31-2

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32). You hear preachers and theologians quote verse 32 “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” However, there is that little conjunction “and” at the beginning of verse 32.  Jesus first said, “If ye continue in my Word.” In order to be truly free, you have to first know the Truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). And to know more about the Truth you must continue in His Word. Once you know the Truth and continue in His Word, then you are His disciples indeed. If you do not know the Truth and would like to know more about Jesus, go to my website T4GM.org and click on the link “How To Become A Christian.” If are a child of God, continue in His Word and be free.

A Fixed Heart

Psa 57_7

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7). A fixed heart represents a steadfast heart. It is a heart that in a world that is falling apart around us, has a peace that passes all understanding. It is faith in God, a confident assurance that He is still in control. You know you possess it when in the midst of the turmoil in your soul, you are at peace with God. Paul wrote, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the PEACE OF GOD, which passeth all understanding, SHALL KEEP your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7). Fix your heart on God and praise Him today.

Peace

Psalm 4_8

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8). There are many remedies to help us sleep. Some people count sheep, others use some type of noise and many take pills. However, those remedies are only for the body, and they cannot give you peace of mind and peace in your soul. Only God can give you true peace that will help you dwell in safety. Jeremiah wrote; “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” (Isaiah 26:3). Next time you have trouble sleeping because there is no peace, don’t try the things of the world, get your mind on God. You can sleep, knowing that He will give you peace of mind and soul, and he will keep you through the night.

Peace Of Christ

John 14_27Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27). There are two words in this verse you need to understand. They are “Let not.” It means that you are in control of letting your heart be troubled. You can allow the problems of this world, to take away the peace that Jesus wants to give you. Many people rely on the peace of this world and try to find peace in possessions, work, or in religion. We can make it through this life regardless of the circumstances because Jesus can give us true peace. In Philippians 4:7 it is described as “which passeth all understanding.” Without a doubt, we cannot understand it, but we can believe it, and it is up to you to let not your heart be troubled. Trust in the Peace of Christ. It is a discipline that is well worth the effort.

The House Of God

Psa 84_10

For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” (Psalm 84:10). The Psalmist knew there was value dwelling in the house of God continually. In God’s House, he could experience intimacy and worship God intensively. There he would be at peace and in safety. However, we can not dwell in God’s house continually. As children of God, God dwells in us, and we are His temple (1 Cor. 6:19). Our heart, soul, mind, and bodies are to love God above all things. We are to worship Him continually and live a life of holiness no matter our location or vocation. “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2).

Peace With God

Rom 5_1

“Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:” (Romans 5:1). God bestows His righteousness upon all who have placed their faith in the completed work of Christ on the cross. In Gods eyes, we are justified. God sees us just as we have never sinned before. Notice, it is not peace of God, but peace with God that we have. The battle between God and us is over. Christ has won the battle on the cross and when we place our faith in Him, God wins us. Do you Know Jesus as your Savior and Lord? Do you have peace with God today? Quit fighting Him, Give Him all your heart.
