“Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Hebrews 7:25). This verse speaks of Jesus and His present ministry in heaven. First, Jesus is alive and is interceding for us. Can you imagine no one better than the Son of God to pray for each of us? Secondly, for those who come to God through faith in Jesus, He is always able to save completely. Salvation begins here on earth when you place your faith in Christ as Lord and Savior. But one day our salvation will be complete, as we are glorified in His presence in heaven, “We shall be like Him for we shall see Him as He is,” (1 John 3:2). Have you come to God? “And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2). This verse speaks of Christ’s work on the cross. The word “propitiation” means satisfaction or appeasement. In other words, Christ’s death on the cross satisfied God’s demand for justice and averted God’s holy wrath against believers sin. Notice Jesus died not only for believers but for the sins of the whole world. Jesus took your place on the cross and died for you so that through faith in Him you can have eternal life. “These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” (1 John 5:13). In talking to people about their salvation, I have heard many say, I hope I am saved or I think I am saved. This passage clearly states that you may know you have eternal life. The verb “may know” means it is settled and is absolute knowledge. In other words, there is no doubting, once you know, you know. If there is doubt in you, then I believe you need to make sure that Christ resides in your heart. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.” (John 10:9) Jesus says in this passage, that He is the Door. All who enter through the Door will be saved. Once you become a child of God, like a shepherd, Jesus provides for His sheep. He guards and protects His sheep. He gives them food for spiritual growth. Jesus provides for all their needs 24 hours a day. David knew exactly what kind of shepherd the Lord was when he wrote: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23:1). “But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.” (Psalm 4:3). In writing this Psalm, David knew that God Himself had set apart certain ones specifically for Himself. Those certain ones are the godly. When it comes to salvation, God is no respecter of persons. All people desiring to be saved must repent of their sins and accept Christ as Lord and Savior. When we make Him Lord and Savior God declares us godly and we have the confidence that God will hear us when we call. This means those who are set apart God hears because they have a desire in their hearts to put God first in their lives. He is truly Lord of all. Are you one of God’s godly Children? “And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.” (Genesis 22:7-8). God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Isaac was wondering where the lamb for the sacrifice was. Abraham said that God would provide, and God did indeed provide. Abraham was told by an angel not to harm the boy and as he turned around, there was a ram in the thicket. Almost 2000 years later another Father would lead His Son up a hill. This time there would be no reprieve, no ram in the thicket. Jesus would die on a hill called Calvary. He would die for the sins of the world. “What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Think about what that verse is truly saying. The Holy Spirit lives in you! He is a gift to us from God. Since the Holy Spirit indwells us we belong to God. We equally belong to Him because we have been bought with a price. Jesus paid the price with His blood and redeemed you. Do you demonstrate evidence of the Spirit living in you? By your faith, do people know you belong to God? In the book of James, we read “shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18). Everyone does not show faith the same way, but everyone who has faith shows it. Show your faith in God today and let the world know you belong to God. Have a Blessed Day! T4GM.ORG
