Godly Children

Psa 4_3A

“But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.” (Psalm 4:3). In writing this Psalm, David knew that God Himself had set apart certain ones specifically for Himself.  Those certain ones are the godly. When it comes to salvation, God is no respecter of persons. All people desiring to be saved must repent of their sins and accept Christ as Lord and Savior. When we make Him Lord and Savior God declares us godly and we have the confidence that God will hear us when we call. This means those who are set apart God hears because they have a desire in their hearts to put God first in their lives. He is truly Lord of all. Are you one of God’s godly Children? God Will Provide

Gen 22_8A

“And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.” (Genesis 22:7-8). God told Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac. Isaac was wondering where the lamb for the sacrifice was. Abraham said that God would provide, and God did indeed provide. Abraham was told by an angel not to harm the boy and as he turned around, there was a ram in the thicket. Almost 2000 years later another Father would lead His Son up a hill. This time there would be no reprieve, no ram in the thicket. Jesus would die on a hill called Calvary. He would die for the sins of the world. Ye Are Not Your Own

1 cor 6_19-20B

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Think about what that verse is truly saying. The Holy Spirit lives in you! He is a gift to us from God.  Since the Holy Spirit indwells us we belong to God. We equally belong to Him because we have been bought with a price. Jesus paid the price with His blood and redeemed you. Do you demonstrate evidence of the Spirit living in you? By your faith, do people know you belong to God? In the book of James, we read “shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18). Everyone does not show faith the same way, but everyone who has faith shows it. Show your faith in God today and let the world know you belong to God.

Everlasting to Everlasting

Psa 107_17

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children” (Psalm 103:17). Mercy is defined as God sparing us from what we deserve. As sinners, we deserve to be eternally punished in hell for our wickedness against a holy God. But God gave us mercy through Jesus’ death on the cross for you. Through faith in Jesus as our Savior, instead of the frailty of death, God gives us eternal life; a life that is everlasting to everlasting. Only Jesus

John 14_6B

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Someone has said that Jesus could not possibly be the only way to God, that there are many ways to heaven. Many religions would want you to believe that. But the Bible tells us only one way, that way is through Jesus. Peter said it this way “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). It is not by works, duty, or birth. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Salvation is not about what you can do to get to heaven, it is about what Christ has already done. Jesus completed salvation on the cross. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31). Sing To The LORD

Psa 96_1

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.” (Psalm 96:1-2) Singing is one way in which we praise God for all He is and has done and is doing. Over time, I have watch people in different locations as I was called to speak. Some people as they sing, you can see it on their faces, they are really praising God. But there are those, whose lips never move, and they stand very firmly and straight-faced. I have often wondered if that is a reflection of their life outside of the church. They go through life preoccupied, there is no time to praise God. Peter wrote, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). If you can’t praise God for what He has done for you, then maybe in your heart he hasn’t done anything. Today take a moment to examine your heart. Ask yourself, do I indeed know Jesus? Do I, in fact, have a song in my heart? If you said no, Jesus is waiting for your call, go to my website, http://www.T4GM.org and click on the “How To Become A Christian”. Jesus is ready to put a song in your heart and give you joy. If you do know Christ, take a moment to praise Him.

But This MAN

Hebrews 10_12

“And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God” (Hebrews 10:11-12). These two verses offer a contrast between the old covenant and the new covenant in Christ. In the old covenant, the priest stood continually offering the blood of bulls, goats, and lambs, which never took away the sins of the people. But in verse 12 “this man”, Jesus Christ offered Himself once, for the sins of the whole world. When He had accomplished this, He sat down on the right hand of God. Why did Jesus sit down? Because salvation was finished. When Jesus spoke those words in John 19:30, “It is finished,” God had provided a way for mankind to be saved, and that way is through Christ and Christ alone. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.
