One Desire

Psa 27_4

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4). What is your one desire? For David, it was to dwell on the wonderful features of God. He wanted to dwell in the presence of God. Do you have that singleness of purpose? Is God the one thing you desire? We can’t be at church 24/7, but we can start each day gazing upon the beauty of God and meditating on His word. Be still and listen.

Sing To The LORD

Psa 96_1

O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth. Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.” (Psalm 96:1-2) Singing is one way in which we praise God for all He is and has done and is doing. Over time, I have watch people in different locations as I was called to speak. Some people as they sing, you can see it on their faces, they are really praising God. But there are those, whose lips never move, and they stand very firmly and straight-faced. I have often wondered if that is a reflection of their life outside of the church. They go through life preoccupied, there is no time to praise God. Peter wrote, “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). If you can’t praise God for what He has done for you, then maybe in your heart he hasn’t done anything. Today take a moment to examine your heart. Ask yourself, do I indeed know Jesus? Do I, in fact, have a song in my heart? If you said no, Jesus is waiting for your call, go to my website, http://www.T4GM.org and click on the “How To Become A Christian”. Jesus is ready to put a song in your heart and give you joy. If you do know Christ, take a moment to praise Him.

Bless The Lord

Psa 103_2-4

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with and tender mercies;” (Psalm 103:2-4). Many people in the world do not praise or thank God for all his benefits He gives them. But, as children of God, we do, and what a great blessing it is to praise God. Psalm 22:3 says “God inhabits the praises of His children.” This means He is blessed by our gratitude and praises. Think carefully about the benefits within these verses. We are forgiven, healed, redeemed, given love and mercy. Wow, and there is so much more God has done for us! Take a moment to dwell on God and all the benefits he has bestowed upon you. Then express yourself to God, you may find yourself enjoying it.

Worship the Lord Our God

Psa 99_9B

Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.” (Psalm 99:9). As believers, we are told to exalt God and worship Him because He is Holy. Worship is an act of submission to exalt God and Glorify Him. It is giving Him your loyalty and devotion for what He has done for you. As you gather with other believers today, remember, true worship is God-centered. Is not about you, the music, the preacher or the sermon. Worship is about God! Exalt, adore, love Him today. Let Him fill you with His presence. “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” (Psalm 29:2).
