Serving Others

Phil 2_3-4.jpg

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.” (Philippians. 2:3-4). It is sometimes hard to think of other people before yourself. We like our comfort zone just the way it is. It hard to turn loose of our pride and think of other first. We should regard others as being worthy of more consideration than we give ourselves. Jesus said, “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. (Mark 10:45) Jesus became a servant and died for us. Be like Christ today serve someone, put their need ahead of yours. Share real JOY, Jesus, Others, then You.

Worship The Lord

Psa 95_6

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker.” (Psalm 95:6). Why do you go to church? Some go out of habit or duty. Others go to church to see and to be seen. The main reason for going to church should be because we love God and want to worship Him. This verse informs us that He is our maker. Everyone is a creation of God, but through a relationship with Christ, we become children of God. We are so blessed. O come, let us worship, worship the Lord.

His Grace

2 Cor 12_9B

“And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me” (2 Corinthians 12:9). Every day, we need physical strength to accomplish the task at hand and God supplies that physical strength. However, He also supplies spiritual strength or His grace for the heart and soul as well. It is His grace that helps us make it through each day. Rely on Jesus. Solomon wrote it this way. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Prov. 3:5-6). Remember His grace is sufficient for all our needs.

Delight In God’s Word

Psa 1_2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalm 1:2) Do you delight in God’s Word? Do you read it every day? Someone has once said that the Bible will keep you from sin or sin will keep you from the Bible. The person mentioned in this verse is meditating on God’s Word day and night. In other words, God’s Word is on his mind continually. To meditate means to move God’s Word over and over in your heart and mind, to dwell constantly on His Word. Let God’s Word guide your heart and mind. Allow His Word to penetrate your being. If you want to get more involved in God’s Word, go to my website T4GM.org and click on the link “Bible Study App Module” and check out the FREE Bible study programs. Meditate on God’s Word today.

Still The Same

1 Pet 1_24-25

“For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away: But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25). Nothing lasts forever. Think of all the vehicles you had to purchase because of failure. What about your home repair, your appliances, nothing lasts forever. But one thing has not changed through the centuries, it is the Word of God. The message within the Bible remains the same, Jesus Saves. Christ saved then and He saves today. Confessing Christ

Luke 12_8a

“Also I say unto you, Whosoever shall confess me before men, him shall the Son of man also confess before the angels of God: But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.” (Luke 12:8-9). Jesus was, of course, talking about our Christian witness; our unashamed verbal testimony that comes from our mouth and manifests itself in our walk. No doubt He was not only talking about “talking the talk”, but also “walking the walk” as well.  There has to be a consistency in our lives so that those who do not know Him as the Lord and Savior would see and believe. Not to live in harmony with Christ’s teachings while professing that He is Lord is to disown Him, and that is hypocrisy. This could mean that possibly we do not know Him and in which we could be left behind when He comes again. Search your heart this morning, do you walk the walk as well as talk the talk? A Fixed Heart

Psalm 57_7A

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.” (Psalm 57:7). A fixed heart, what does that mean? In a world that is falling in around us, it means we have our hearts focused on God. There is a confident assurance that God is in control. Our faith is firmly in Him. That is why David wrote; “But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God.” (Psalm 31:14). When your heart is fixed on God, you can sing and give Him praise. Let the world see the Joy that only Jesus can bring. Fix your heart on God as you worship Him today.
