God Does Not Sleep

Psa 121_2-3

“My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. (3) He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. (4) Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep” (Psalm. 121:2-4). We have all had those occasional nights when sleep just will not come. We toss and turn as we watch to hours go by. But, it is comforting to know that God is wide awake with us, and He is watching over us. Perhaps He is just waiting to spend a few moments with us. Arise and spend some time with Him. P. S. Don’t forget to listen.

One Desire

Psa 27_4

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” (Psalm 27:4). What is your one desire? For David, it was to dwell on the wonderful features of God. He wanted to dwell in the presence of God. Do you have that singleness of purpose? Is God the one thing you desire? We can’t be at church 24/7, but we can start each day gazing upon the beauty of God and meditating on His word. Be still and listen.

We Shall Be Like Him

1 John 3_16.jpgA

“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” (1 John 3:2). This is one of my favorite verses because it tells us something of our future. At the moment we see Jesus, either by death or when He returns for us, we will be like Him. We will be transformed physically and spiritually. Paul wrote it this way “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). Doesn’t that make you excited? We were made in His image, one day we will be like Him.

Trust The Lord

Eph 6_12A

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12). Do you struggle to try to obey God and resist the devil? Trying to become a mature Christian is not easy and it doesn’t happen overnight. If you as a child of God trying to be obedient to God, then you are in for a fight. Your battle is not against those around you or even yourself. Our fight is against unseen forces of darkness that fight to pull your heart and mind away from a devotional love for Jesus Christ. Try putting this verse into practice “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Trust God and let Him fight for you.

I Am With You Always

Heb 13_5

“I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). Do you feel lonely sometimes? No matter how lonely you may get or what trial you are going through or even when life is good. If you are a child of God, Jesus is always there. Remember His words, “And, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world” (Matt. 28:20) Jesus will be with us every minute and every hour of every day. What a joy and blessing to know that Christ is always with us!

Walk In Truth

Psa 86_11A

Teach me thy way, O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear thy name.” (Psalm 86:11) Can we truly learn all the ways of God and walk in the truth, when in our hearts we are pulled in so many ways by the world? Many Christians put on a good act in front of others, however, in their heart, there is division. We cannot walk in God’s truth if our hearts and minds are scattered. Jesus said this way “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30). Focus on God today and put Him first in everything situation, and fear His name.

Return To The Ancient Paths

Jer 6_16A

Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.” (Jeremiah 6:16). God spoke through Jeremiah to call His people to repentance and return to Him. They did not. As a result of their disobedience, they became captives in the distant land of Babylon where many died over the next seventy years. Their beloved Jerusalem was totally destroyed and became occupied by foreigners. Do you see the same thing happening in America today? We are guilty of neglecting God and His Word; falling further and further away from Him. If we ever needed to return to the “ancient paths” NOW IS THAT MOMENT! Repent and walk in sacred paths.
