Be Free

John 8_31-2

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32). You hear preachers and theologians quote verse 32 “ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” However, there is that little conjunction “and” at the beginning of verse 32.  Jesus first said, “If ye continue in my Word.” In order to be truly free, you have to first know the Truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). And to know more about the Truth you must continue in His Word. Once you know the Truth and continue in His Word, then you are His disciples indeed. If you do not know the Truth and would like to know more about Jesus, go to my website T4GM.org and click on the link “How To Become A Christian.” If are a child of God, continue in His Word and be free.

Be Ye Perfect

Matt 5_48

Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.” (Matthew 5:48). In this verse, Jesus is issuing a call to His Disciples to strive for perfect righteousness. Though in our human sinful state we can never attain it, we must press on daily to perfect righteousness. Righteousness is to consume us from the inside out. It must start in the heart and flow into our actions and thoughts. We must allow this perfect righteousness to conform us to the will of the Father; to make us like Him. This is the only alternative since God is perfect so should we be. Strive to be like your heavenly Father, be perfectly righteous in all you are and in all you do.

Ye Are Not Your Own

1 cor 6_19-20B

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Think about what that verse is truly saying. The Holy Spirit lives in you! He is a gift to us from God.  Since the Holy Spirit indwells us we belong to God. We equally belong to Him because we have been bought with a price. Jesus paid the price with His blood and redeemed you. Do you demonstrate evidence of the Spirit living in you? By your faith, do people know you belong to God? In the book of James, we read “shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works” (James 2:18). Everyone does not show faith the same way, but everyone who has faith shows it. Show your faith in God today and let the world know you belong to God.

Walking in the LIGHT

1 JOHN 1_7B

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” 1 John 1:7 To walk in the light means to believe in the Son of God who came to earth and to follow Him. If we walk upon earth believing in Jesus Christ and doing exactly what He said to do, then we are in the light just “as he is in the light.” Jesus said; “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” (John 8:12). Walk in the LIGHT today.

Everlasting to Everlasting

Psa 107_17

But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children’s children” (Psalm 103:17). Mercy is defined as God sparing us from what we deserve. As sinners, we deserve to be eternally punished in hell for our wickedness against a holy God. But God gave us mercy through Jesus’ death on the cross for you. Through faith in Jesus as our Savior, instead of the frailty of death, God gives us eternal life; a life that is everlasting to everlasting. Only Jesus

John 14_6B

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). Someone has said that Jesus could not possibly be the only way to God, that there are many ways to heaven. Many religions would want you to believe that. But the Bible tells us only one way, that way is through Jesus. Peter said it this way “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). It is not by works, duty, or birth. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Salvation is not about what you can do to get to heaven, it is about what Christ has already done. Jesus completed salvation on the cross. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” (Acts 16:31). Personal Reflection

Phil 2_12A

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2:12). What did Paul mean by the phrase “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling?” Notice he did not say work for. Every day, we need to allow the Holy Spirit to do some introspection within our hearts, to make certain they we are indeed in Christ as evidence by our daily living. We work out our salvation by walking with the Holy Spirit, as He guides us in the will of God. Are you walking in God’s will? Is the light of Christ that is shining in us, “so shining before men, that they are seeing our good works and glorifying the Father Who is in heaven?” Do some personal reflection right now to see exactly how it is between Him and you as you seek to work out your salvation.
