Walk as Children of Light

Eph 5_8“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:” (Ephesians 5:8). We are encouraged in this verse to walk as children of light. Paul tells us we were darkness, not in darkness. We receive Christ as our Lord and Savior we become light in the Lord. John wrote; “In him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.” (John 1:4-5). Undoubtedly, these believers were not walking as children of light because Paul had to remind them. As you go through your day, will you reflect the light of Christ? Walk as children of Light.

Show Forth His Praises

1 Pet 2_9“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1 Peter 2:9). You are a very special person to God because He chose you to believe in and become a follower of Christ. The moment you trusted in Christ, God chose you to show forth the praises of  Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. Whatever you do today and wherever you are, you are in a mission field. Show forth His praises and let the world know that Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Light.

Have a Blessed Day!

Worship the Lord

Psa 99_9“Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.” (Psalm 99:9). What will be your reason for going to church today? For some, it will be out of habit or duty. Others will go to church for a selfish reason. True worship is not about us, it is about exalting God and praising Him. We usually say things like “I genuinely enjoyed the service” or “Pastor that was a divine message.” With humble hearts, we should be asking God; “ Was my praise and worship worthy of you?” As you worship today, remember, worship is all about God and nothing else.

Have a Blessed Day!

Sharing Christ

1 Chron 16_23“Sing unto the LORD, all the earth; shew forth from day to day his salvation.” (1 Chronicles 16:23). In David’s praise to God, he calls for all the earth to sing unto the Lord. But what struck me was how we show forth His salvation from day to day? Paul tells us to “put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” (Ephesians 4:24). When people see you, do they see Christ? As Christians, we are called to live a life of righteousness and true holiness. If Christ is in your heart, then you need to show the world that you are a child of God and that Christ has saved you. So from day to day show forth His salvation and Share Jesus.

Have a Blessed Day!

Faithful and Just

1 John 1_9B“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9). Confessing means to say about our sins what God says about them, that they are indeed sins, offenses against Him. Notice what this verse says about God, He is faithful and just. Everything the Bible says about God is true. God treats everyone the same way, He doesn’t change His mind. “For I am the LORD, I change not…” (Malachi 3:6). God is as faithful to His promises now as He ever was. If we truly confess our sins to God, He will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. God is always faithful and just.

Absent from the Body

2 Cor 5_8“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.” (2 Corinthians 5:8-9). Paul had no fear of dying. He had committed to living his life in such a way that whether by death or life, he would bring honor and glory to Christ. One day, you and I will stand before God and give an account of how we have used this life. We long to hear these words “Well done, thou good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21). We are to commit our lives to bring honor and glory to Christ, so that we may be accepted of God. Can you say for certainty, that to be absent from the body is to be in the presence of the Lord?

Who’s Watching You?

Matt 5_16A“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16). When I read this verse, one question comes to mind; “Who’s watching you?” Today, while you are at work, or the supermarket, or even at home, who will be watching you act as a Christian? Wherever you go and whatever you do or say, be Christ-like, let His light shine through you. Remember, you may be the only Jesus some people ever see. So don’t forget to ask yourself, “Who’s watching me?”
