Free Indeed

John 8_32A

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32). What truth is Jesus talking about in this verse? The truth that Christ is speaking of is His own Words. Jesus’ Words, when we understand them through the illumination of the Holy Spirit, sets us free. By continuing in His Word daily, the Words of Christ set us free from the enslavement of sin and spiritual death. Spend time in Christ and in His Word, be free.

To Know More

Psa 63_1

“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;” (Psalm 63:1). Most Christians have just as much God as they want. How about you, are you satisfied with what you know of God or do want more? Do you long for God? If so, spend time in prayer and in His Word, and allow the Holy Spirit to show you more. May we all be like Paul who wrote; “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” (Philippians 3:10). Long for God, Thirst for God, and get to know more of Him.

Sing Praises

Psalm 47_6A

“Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.” (Psalm 47:6). We are commanded to sing praises to our God and King. Well, some of you will probably say “I can’t sing.” If Christ lives in you, you have Joy in your heart. Paul wrote; “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord” (Ephesians 5:18-19). Just sing praises to God and let Him be the judge whether you can sing or not, I am sure He will enjoy it. Sing praises, sing praises, sing praises to our God and King.

Will You be Found Faithful?

Hebrews 4_13

“Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.” (Hebrews 4:13). Many people including Christians do their very best to hide their sins from everyone around them. However, you can’t hide your sins from God. God sees everything you do whether good or bad, and we will be judged by Him at the judgment seat. Knowing this should motivate us to seek to live holy lives. Will we be found faithful when we stand before Him?

Do Not Yield

Rom 6_12

“Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.” (Romans 6:12). As children of God, we are no longer subject to the domination of sin. We should not let sin reign in our bodies. The word “Let” implies, that we have a choice, to let sin reign or not. Sin is not our master. Our Master and Lord is Jesus Christ. We are indwelt with the power of the Holy Spirit to control and direct our lives. Ephesians 5:18 commands us; to continually “be filled with the Spirit.” If you and I are continually being filled with the Spirit, we have no room for sin. Remember, when temptation comes, we do not have to yield.

Wait on the Lord

Psa 27_14

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.” (Psalm 27:14). We live in an instant society. We demand everything right now. We can get so busy that we get ahead of God. This verse says to Wait on the Lord. When the trials come in our life, we get ahead of God by trying to solve our own problems and not allowing God to help us. God says; “Wait on Me, take courage, I will strengthen your heart through this time.” Remember, God is always there so, WAIT on the LORD.

Who do You Love?

James 4_4B

“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” (James 4:4). The real question is who do you love, God or the world. The world wants you to love yourself; to please yourself. The world wants to eliminate everything about God from your life. What areas of your life have you compromised with the world? You need to ask yourselves; does every place I go to, everything I see and hear, and all I do, bring honor and glory to God. God desires to be included within every moment of our lives, and we must honor Him. You can either love the world and be an enemy of God, or you can love God; it is your choice.
