Not of this World

Phil 3_20“For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:” (Philippians 3:20). We are not of this world. Our “conversation” or citizenship is in heaven, even though we live here on earth. One day our Savior Jesus Christ will return and take us home. The thought of Him returning for us should motivate us to live as citizens of heaven. We need to learn to live as foreigners with our minds set on heaven not on earthly things. Paul also wrote; “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (Colossians 3:2). Our heart, mind, and actions should reveal that we are citizens of heaven. Remember we are not of this world.

Walk in the Light

1 John 1_7A“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7). Too many Christians live their lives just standing in the Light and not walking in it. They have become satisfied with their spiritual growth. They seem to have no vision of service or fruit-bearing in their life. Think about your life, do you love the Lord as much as you did when you were first saved? Is the Word of God as precious now as then? May the Lord helps us to never be satisfied with our Christian growth. Take stock of yourself and see if you are growing in Christ because there is no standing still in the Christian Life. Walk in the Light.

Abide In Me

John 15_5“I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” (John 15:5). Jesus tells us to abide in Him, and He is to abide in us because without Him we can do nothing. Some has said, that 90% of the work in the church could be done in the flesh, and no one would know the difference. Paul said it this way; “This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.” (Galatians 5:16). We need to ask ourselves these questions, am I abiding in Jesus and is Jesus abiding in Me?
